Meet the Chaplain
I was born in Limerick, Ireland, a city rich in history and culture, situated near the scenic Shannon River. My early life in Limerick was shaped by the lush landscapes and vibrant community, which laid the foundation for my values and aspirations. I lived there until I reached the age of 17, a time filled with exploration and self-discovery. As I transitioned into adulthood, my journey took me across the Irish Sea to England, where I made a significant decision to join the Royal Air Force. This choice not only marked the beginning of my military career but also exposed me to a diverse array of experiences and cultures.
During my service in the Royal Air Force, I was stationed in Gibraltar, a strategically important location that serves as a gateway between Europe and Africa. While there, I had the opportunity to work closely with a Chaplain, an experience that profoundly influenced my perspective on support and community service. Together, we reached out to families in need, providing assistance and care during challenging times. This role deepened my commitment to helping others and solidified my desire to serve in a spiritual capacity.
In 1980, after years of personal and professional growth, I embarked on a new chapter in my life by moving to the United States. This transition was not merely a change of location; it represented a significant evolution in my vocation. This is when I became ordained by the National Chaplains Association as a Licensed Non-Denominational Chaplain, allowing me to continue my mission of serving others in a new context. This role has enabled me to offer guidance, support, and compassion to those navigating the complexities of life, drawing from the rich tapestry of my experiences across two continents.
